HENRY NETTLETON (he/they) is a theatre director and lyricist originally from Seattle, WA.

As a director, he has developed new plays and musicals, including the 2025 Relentless Award Winner Jo Jenkins Before The Galactic High Court of Consciousness (Book, Music & Lyrics by Jack D. Coen).

As a lyricist, he is currently writing Troupe (Book by Zinzer Jay, Music by Luke Holloway). In August 2025, they presented a closed reading with the support of LaMaMa. He also wrote the lyrics for After Pinocchio (Book by James Hindman, Music by Luke Holloway), commissioned and produced by YaYa Theatre Company (2024).

In addition to his own work, he has assisted at the Juilliard School, 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Keen Company, and the Village Theatre (Issaquah, WA), for directors such as Zi Alikhan, Bill Berry, Christopher Ashley, as well as for the writer Brian Yorkey. Previously, he served as Artistic/Literary Intern at LCT3/ Lincoln Center Theatre, Producing Intern for Jeffrey Seller, and performed coverage of new plays and musicals for organizations such as Second Stage, The Playwrights Realm, and Page 73. He previously served as Co-Artistic Director of Really Really Theatre Group, amplifying artistic voices in New York City and Seattle, and was a member artist of New Phase Collective.

He is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan Department of Musical Theatre, as well as a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.

He currently lives in Harlem with his husband and dog, Nina.
